Listing is for 1 of 2 antique Advertising umbrellas that I now have listed. This is a circa 1915 Advertising vendor/peddler cart umbrella. These were also used on old tractors. By the Sprague Umbrella Company out of Norwalk, Ohio who got their start around 1890 and on the underside you can see the company markings (lot of info about them on the net) It also has something referring to its patent but I didnt dig around under the umbrella that much. The antique advertisement is for Burns Family Bread and they were based out of the Syracuse/Ithaca NY area that my limited research has shown.

I have found they date back to at least 1910 if not earlier. This umbrella has wear as you can see in the photos, and remember that I can not possibly point out and photo every minor flaw in it. If you look at the photos you will see the overall condition. Pics 4, 5 & 7 show the most noticeable holes and a small tear. This umbrella still opens up and locks into place.

The metal cap on the bottom of the wood was 2 parts and you can see the one section is missing but the tip is still firmly in place. There is dirt & discoloration spots in random areas from usage and moving around in storage over the last 100 years as you can imagine. I have tried to show very detailed pics of all of the panels. A nice piece of early Americana that is definitely not easy to find. I have always treated this Umbrella as a display piece just like a sign, and this should be handled with care. I dont think I would be taking it to the beach any time soon. Large umbrella stands approximately 67/68 inches tall (5 feet & 6 inches). It must be a physical address.
