For your consideration is this Authentic Antique English Paragon S. Limited Umbrella with a Sterling Silver Tip Cane Handle.

The Fox Paragon umbrellas are very collectible and considered the Rolls Royce of umbrellas. The curved handle is made of cane with a sterling silver tip. An anchor town mark for Birmingham England. The frame is metal with one inside rib that is marked Paragon S. Overall frame and structure of this umbrella is very good with n o rust or damage to the metal frame found.

The canopy is a black silk with a label inside J. The silk cloth is fully intact , but very delicate with extreme care needed when opening the umbrella. It has a couple pin holes and some minor edge tears. It does have the original button, but missing the wrap closure. Will need to reattach (sew) the canopy to the tip of some of the ribs. If one should desire, a stronger canopy can be fully replaced by a specialist. When I acquired the umbrella it had been stowed away in a corner for years with the original sleeve that protected it.
The sleeve fell apart from age as soon as it was touched. This umbrella was acquired at an estate sale in Northern NH before the building was to be torn down.
The estate site served many purposes, with one being a Horse drawn Coach & Carriage Depo in the early 1900's. I also have a women's parasol from the same sale that I also posted (check on my site if interested). I can imagine a well dressed gentlemen and lady in the early 1900's traveling a top a carriage with this open umbrella for shade. This umbrella is in wonderful overall condition that one can display as is or replace the canopy and have it fully functional for today's use.
An umbrella with a history, class and style! Please refer to the photos for further details, as they are part of the description. The item "Antique Paragon S. Silk, Cane, Sterling Silver Hallmarked Tip Umbrella" is in sale since Friday, May 4, 2018.
