ANTIQUE PORCELAIN PAINTED PORTRAIT PARASOL UMBRELLA CANE HANDLE late 19th cen
A real find, this porcelain parasol handle is unmarked, however the workmanship is extremely likely to be Meissen, from Dresden, Germany, in the late 1800's. On the knob top, there is a. And painted scene of a couple fishing by a brook. Vivid pinks, blues and greens. On the shaft, the same couple is walking. Each scene is inside a cartouche of ornate raised gilding. Piece is approximately 6 inches in length. Has open fitter hole approximately 5/8 for parasol. The delicate gilding throughout the piece is unblemished in any way, as are the painted scenes. The deep cobalt blue background and workmanship on this piece are stunning. Superb condition, from a family private collection in Chicago.
