Fabulous Victorian Period Engraved Sterling Silver Umbrella/parasol Handle
This listing is for a stunning Victorian Period HUGE 12 Sterling Silver umbrella or parasol handle with intricate engraved scroll design, c. This unusual handle features a beautiful sterling silver body nicely engraved with florals and scrolls in the design. Engraved monogram "M" in center top of handle. This great handle is in very nice condition with only a couple of tiny no-harm dings (see photos) and general wear commensurate with age. End marked "Sterling" along with unidentified maker's stamp C.
The handle (excluding the tip insert) measures 12" long with the handle end being 1 1/8" in diameter and the tip hole is 1/4 in diameter. These elaborately decorated umbrella handles are often used today as handles for magnifying glasses.
