Rare MId Century Modern Vtg, Umbrella Stand By Piero Fornasetti Uccelli Birds
The "Uccelli" or birds pattern is a very rare and hard to to find example of Piero Fornasetti's work. This umbrella stand features a number of brightly colored birds sitting on tree branches, behind a chicken wire motif. This is all done in some sort of enamel work with what I suspect to be a brass lip. The umbrella stand is well marked on the bottom, and with another stamp or marker mark on the birds beak. This was made in the 1950's and has a few condition issues. There is a foot that is missing (although the umbrella stand still stands level). This is also a foot that is loose and a few scratches on the bottom of the stand. There are also some chips in the enamel and some scuff marks that are mostly on the bottom of the item. Please see the pictures as they can best describe the condition. There are no dents or major distractions from the overall aesthetic and whimsy of this piece of functional, yet decorative, art. The item has never been restored or repainted in any manner. All that has been done to it was to remove the dust bunnies from the inside of the stand. It is 100% authentic and 100% original in every way. And only sell on occasion. This umbrella stand is part of my "leaning out the closets" campaign. I do my absolute best to describe the item and try to take lots of good pictures.
Please ask questions and I will answer as best I can. I will take this to UPS to have them pack, wrap and box the item. The umbrella stand stand measures about 22.4 in. Or 57cm tall and about 10.2 in.
