Silk Lace Parasol Victorian Edwardian Antique Fancy Lacey Wood Handle Umbrella
Exquisite antique Victorian Edwardian creme beige color fancy lace parasol. All original and of the period. Features beautiful draping open work fine lace that gives this piece a real delicate antique feel.Has its original carved wood handle and wood spindle at top covered with the original brass cap. Parasol has been accented with early rhinestone paste edging around top and down in the lace about 6 in about 5 spots. The bottom of the parasol has a scallop edge that is highlighted with a old pink silk ribbon trim. Spindles are all good and fastener that hold up the top holds it up firmly. There are no splits in the lace as a result of opening it. However, when closed it does not hook in its original metal closure as it is missing. It does stand up ok without the parasol lace top opening up.
This is very delicate fine fancy old lace. Thus, there are a few holes in the lace. These could easily be pulled together. You can see one in the photo on the edge of the lace top.
