VICTORIAN ROLLED GOLD & MOTHER-OF-PEARL DECORATED UMBRELLA HANDLE, c. 1880-1900
This listing is for a beautiful Victorian Period rolled gold umbrella or parasol handle with Mother-of-Pearl decoration, c. Ornate rolled gold embossed floral design on handle in high relief. Fancy engraved monogram "HMB" on handle end. Further embellished with two sections of Mother-of-Pearl panels and rolled gold embossed panels with matching floral design. On gold edge near tip end.
There are some minor dents on handle edge and lower end (portion that mounts into parasol) is bent (see photos). No other problems or flaws other than minor wear commensurate with age. Handle measures 11 1/2" long, with the rounded top being 1 1/2" in diameter and the end tip is 3/8 in diameter. These highly decorated umbrella handles are often used today as handles for magnifying glasses.
