Antique French 18K Gold Parasol Umbrella / Dress Cane Handle, Flowers & Ribbons
An exquisite antique Belle Époque era French 18k yellow gold parasol umbrella or dress cane handle. Beautifully decorated in raised relief with floral garlands and ribbon bows. Hallmarked with the eagle's head control mark indicating 18k gold content, in use in France from 1838. Bearing a maker's mark, appears to initials AG. Possibly for jeweler Alexandre Gremy, active in 1893 - 1901 at 179 rue Saint-Martin, Paris. In overall good antique condition. Measures 2" length x 7/8" diameter at the top x 5/8 diameter at the base. Please note that there is a threaded metal fitting inside to mount to a parasol or cane handle, this adds to the weight.
