Antique/Vintage Umbrella/Cane\Stand Repousse Metal Decoration
We offer for your consideration this beautiful Repousse Metal Umbrella/Cane stand. This stand was fabricated in metal, there are three parts the top rim, the barrel, and the foot. The top rim and the foot are cast metal pieces. The barral is a piece of sheet metal that has had the design press rolled into its surface, roled again into the drum shape and mated to the top and bottom pieces.
The stand is approximately 13 3/4 inches tall. The outside diameter of the stand is at the top lip is approximately 9 inches, the bottom diameter is closer to 10 inches. The inside diameter is approximately 6 1/2 inches. The weight of the stand is approximately 4 pounds.
This stand has developed a very nice finish over time. The exterior looks to have been given faux patina finish. The paint used has done a very good job of preserving the metal and preventing any rust developing. The interior has a gray paint that shows some signs of wear, and smal indications of oxidation. Another coat of paint or a sealer will do well to preserve it. On the sides there are two oval/round areas framed with a twisted rope border and scroll works.
These might be perfect ares to further customize the piece to your taste. I imagine tall ships sailing out of the fog in these areas.
