Description - Rare mechanical carved dog head handle umbrella. The head is nicely carved, leather wrapped and has traces of fur remaining. When you press the button under it's chin the eyes roll to another set and the tongue extends out of the mouth. The umbrella fabric is done in a stripe pattern and has a button that reads Made in Canada Beaudry. " We believe the "Beaudry on the button is for Joseph Beaudry as he applied for an umbrella patent in 1908 and it was granted in 1909. Age - Early 20th Century. 23 + 1/2 inches in overall length.
The fabric measures approximately 33 inches wide. The leather portion of the handle measures approximately 3 + 1/2 inches long. Condition - Age appropriate wear to the dog head, one seam on the umbrella fabric has a 1 + 3/4 inch section where stitching has come undone and there a small tear at the end.

The stitching around one prong has come out of the hole (can be put back in), see photos for complete assessment. Please ask if additional photos are necessary.
